The Elements of Typographic Style
Typography makes at least two kinds of sense, if it makes any sense at all. It makes visual sense and historical sense. The visual side of typography is always on display, and materials for the study of its visual form are many and widespread. The history of letterforms and their usage is visible too, to those with access to manuscripts, inscriptions and old books, but from others it is largely hidden. This book has therefore grown into something more than a short manual of typographic etiquette. [via]

...This thesis presents a new computer interface metaphor for the real-time and simultaneous performance of dynamic imagery and sound. This metaphor is based on the idea of an inexhaustible, infinitely variable, time-based, audiovisual “substance” which can be gesturally created, deposited, manipulated and deleted in a free-form, non-di..

Such systems encompass several different domains, as: autonomous agents in virtual environments, human factors analysis, training, education, virtual prototyping, simulation-based design, and entertainment. ...Fractal functions are explored as a representation for rough data in computer graphics. Two new techniques for using fractal interpolation functions to approximate rough functions and curves are introduced. The first is based on a Hough transform of fractal function transformation parameters. The second is based on previous technique..
