SOMET: Algorithm and Tool for SPARQL Based Ontology Module Extraction

The different ontology module extraction techniques need drawing together under a common framework, to allow for the selection, adaptation and combination of existing techniques. The current work upon a common framework places a significant overhead upon the user. The SOMET algorithm and tool uses the W3C standards, RDF and SPARQL. This allows the selection, adaptation and combination to be a simple manipulation of a SPARQL query. SOMET replicates the behavior of some of the existing techniques and there is work in progress in approximating approaches not fully captured. A preliminary evaluation of the eficiency of these techniques within SOMET is also conducted. A discussion is presented highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of SOMET. [via]
