SenTREE 3 Direct-Hydraulic Control System

Sequenced shutdown for subsea operations from an anchored vessel

The SenTREE* 3 direct hydraulic control system is composed of an integral hydraulic power unit and control panel and a compact reeler unit. The surface equipment requires very little deck space and is well suited for the busy compact vessels used in shallower waters. If disconnection is required, a hydraulic signal is sent through the umbilical to the subsurface hardware. The time required for the shutoff signal to travel to the subsea equipment increases with water depth and umbilical hose length and is dependent on the completion landing string configuration. Approximately 120 s is required to close the SenTREE 3 valves and disconnect the landing string in water depths to 1,370 m (4,500 ft).
