Peugeot 406 ST HDi

2.0-Litre turbo diesel automatic wagon

The Peugeot 406 ST HDi wagon was originally released to the Australian market in August 1999, although its availability was quite short lived. After an absence of nearly a year, the model was recently reintroduced to our market in June 2001. The current 406 wagon is a stylish station wagon and is the second wagon in the 406 series. While the body shape is unchanged, this model is characterised by restyled bumpers, lights and bonnet which distinguish it from the original 406. Perhaps the most notable feature of the 406 range is that it is the first car to make use of Peugeot’s new HDi “Common Rail” direct injection diesel engine. The new diesel engine is available in Australia fitted to both the 406 sedan and the wagon. [via]
