Overview of Geodesy and Positioning at Ordnance Survey Central to Ordnance Survey, and the wider Geographic Information (GI) community, is the establishment and development of the core underpinning geodetic framework and associated positioning services. It is crucial that this framework is accurate, appropriate and accessible and defines the national standard.
