MBL: A Language for Teaching Compiler Construction

This paper presents a specification for MBL, an imperative programming language designed to help teach compiler construction. A minimalist approach was taken to MBL’s design, adding language constructs only if they pro vided distinct challenges in implementation. In addition, some anomalies were deliberately retained to stress particular areas of compiler design and implementation. [via]
