Electronic Portfolio White Paper V.1.0

Today’s electronic portfolio, or ePortfolio, is much like the Course Management System (CMS) of 1997 - there is not yet a coherent understanding of functional requirements, design specifications, or how and to what extent an electronic portfolio might benefit teaching and learning. CMS software did not receive wide acceptance until its usefulness and functionality could be justified and until it became easy-to-use and offered services unavailable from existing systems. [via]
