California Motorcycle Handbook 2008

This booklet supplements the California Driver Handbook concerning traffic laws, safe driving rules, and driver licenses. Study the California Driver Handbook as well as this supplement.This supplement provides information for both novice and experienced drivers of two-wheel vehicles. Portions of this booklet which deal with safe driving practices (rather than traffic laws) were developed initially by the National Public Services Research Institute in cooperation with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).The MSF, California Highway Patrol (CHP), California Motorcyclist Safety Program, various motorcyclist enthusiast groups, and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) all agree that improved licensing, along with quality motorcycle rider education and increased public awareness, has the potential to reduce the number and severity of motorcycle accidents.When using this handbook, remember that it is only a summary of the laws and regulations. DMV, law enforcement, and courts follow the full and exact language of the law contained in the California Vehicle Code. [via]
