When it comes to the pros and cons of various programming languages, programmersand computerscientists alike are usually highly opinionated. The present work provides some objective information comparing several languages, namely C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Rexx, and Tcl. It has the following features: The same program (i.e. an implementation of the same set of requirements) is considered for each language. Hence, the comparison is narrow but homogeneous. [via]
